Lively pioneer. Tenacious analyst. Chemist with almost inexhaustible ambition. And a lateral-thinking pioneer in environmental compatibility. When the term had not even been invented and the PCB scandal of the 1980s was still a long way off, Helmut Theunissen developed mineral oil-free and environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids that were to be characterized by a unique property profile. They were to be flame-retardant, able to operate machines maintenance-free for longer than ever before and at the same time protect the environment through extremely rapid biodegradability. As such, they were to be the exact opposite of the carcinogenic, organic chlorine compounds that had been used in hydraulic systems up until the 1980s.
