Why are water-based cooling lubricants useful in plastics processing?

Plastics react sensitively to thermal and chemical loads. Our smart fluids offer an optimum combination of cooling effect, lubricating behavior and material compatibility – especially in high-temperature processes. They are free from mineral oil-based components and protect tools and molds from wear without impairing the surface or dimensional accuracy of the plastic part.

Our fluids are ideal for machining operations (e.g. milling, turning, drilling) of thermoplastic and thermoset materials, but also for deburring, polishing or precision machining. They are also successfully used in machine hydraulics – for example in injection molding machines or extruders, where high pressures and temperatures occur.

Our water-based fluids leave no stubborn residues, deposits or gumming. This makes it much easier to clean machines, molds and tools – a major advantage in shift operation or during frequent changeovers. The low residue formation contributes to a longer service life of the machines and reduces unproductive downtimes.

Our fluids have been extensively tested and are characterized by high material compatibility – both with plastics, elastomers and metals. For specific requirements, we test your system components in advance and adapt the formulation if necessary. OEM approvals can also be obtained or subsequently supplied on request.

More and more plastics processing companies are focusing on sustainable processes – also for regulatory reasons. Our fluids help to reduce CO₂ emissions, avoid toxic components and conserve resources. Many products consist partly of renewable raw materials and can be biodegraded – ideal for ISO certifications or CSR reports.

The changeover begins with a needs analysis: What processes, machines and requirements exist? We provide individual advice, analyze existing fluids in the laboratory, test compatibility and accompany the pilot changeover. This is followed by a step-by-step rollout, accompanied by training, monitoring and readjustment. The result is a tailor-made solution – with maximum process reliability.
