In a special episode of the podcast hosted by Wolfgang Nies, two worlds came together that share a common origin: mining. But it didn’t stop at memories of the time underground.

The two are not only linked by their past as mining engineers, but also by the conviction that technical progress only has a future if it is sustainable. As the former head of safety at Ruhrkohle AG, Dieter Mantwill recognized early on how crucial the choice of lubricants used is for the environment and safety – and even then he began to establish alternatives to products containing mineral oil.

Today, Fluid Competence is consistently pursuing this direction: the aim is to free all technical processes – whether hydraulic or mechanical – from mineral and bio-oil. Instead, the company relies on innovative, water-based fluids that not only make ecological sense, but also deliver maximum performance.
